August was a busy time for HFMA conferences with Meduit representatives attending events in Arkansas, North Carolina and Louisiana.

The future of AI and how hospitals can maintain their independence led the conversations at the Indiana Rural Health Annual Conference in French Lick, Indiana June 18-19. Indiana hospital and health system leaders joined others from surrounding states along with representatives from area universities including Butler University, Indiana State and Indiana University to explore the positive cultural impact rural hospitals have on their communities around the world.

A new study by the Advisory Board Co. recently published by Modern Healthcare reported that hospital and health system CEOs are prioritizing revenue growth over cost control. While administrators still aim to develop nuanced strategies to cut costs, the focus is now on finding ways to increase revenue. As Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Robotic Process Automation (RPA) continue to impact the way companies do business across the global economy, the healthcare industry can benefit from utilizing AI and RPA as a win-win strategy that both drives revenue and reduces costs.

Managing change in the healthcare environment was a hot topic at the All Michigan HFMA Spring Conference in late May. The general session opened with “Mastering the Storm of Change” followed by two breakout sessions of interest:

A/I was top of mind with HFMA and AAHAM conference attendees, according to Ken Krieger, Regional VP of Sales North, who represented Meduit at multiple events across Pennsylvania, Ohio and Washington D.C. from March through May.
