SARA Solves Specific Revenue Cycle Tasks for Healthcare Providers
Charlotte, NC – Meduit, one of the country’s top ten healthcare revenue cycle management (RCM) solutions companies, announced today the launch of a family of web bots named SARA that leverage artificial intelligence (AI) and robotic process automation (RPA) to solve specific problems for healthcare clients. SARA falls under the MeduitAITM umbrella of industry leading RCM solutions.
Short for Supervised Autonomous Revenue Associate, SARA was developed to address a specific issue presented to Meduit by Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) of North Carolina. BCBS NC provides actionable information using a set of proprietary reason codes that are not available in a standard ANSI 277 message. A large provider client needed an efficient process to retrieve this granular status of claims from the BCBS website and report that status with relevant notes back to the patient file.

The first web bot in the SARA family, it reads everything it needs from the provider’s patient accounting system, parses the claim, accesses the payer website to retrieve the information and formats the findings into and easy-to-read note that is posted directly back to the provider’s patient accounting system. The bot handles complex searches including out of state BCBS plans. No IT integration is required by the provider to implement the solution, so it is zero upfront investment cost. The provider simply provides a set of remote access user credentials and BCBS NC credentials.
