Meduit’s Mighty Give-Back 2023 Donates 7+ Tons of Food and More!

Employees across our company participated in Meduit’s Mighty Give-Back campaign for 2023, collecting 7 tons of food and other items to be donated to charitable organizations. This achievement represents more than 150% of our overall company goal.

To put this in perspective, 7 tons of food will feed 3,040 families of four (over 12,000 people), and would fill a standard semi-trailer, making an incredible difference in helping to overcome food insecurity in our communities.

Meduit Give-Back 2023 was originally scheduled to run from June 5 to July 7, but since there was such great momentum, Meduit extended the program until July 21. Ten Meduit teams competed to collect the most food and other charitable items. The top achievers are:

    1. Food Fighters, led by Steve Villa, collected 1,444.83 pounds of food – the highest ranking of pounds of food per employee (21 total team members) – along with the most donated items per employee.
    2. EBO Excellence, led by Jason Bauerschmidt and Mark Shabason, collected 4,836.28 pounds of food, marking the highest in overall pounds and items contributed.
    3. Andrea Newman, with 832 total donations, topping most pounds of food and items from an individual
Meduit developed a committee to coordinate and manage the overall program, “The competition was organized by line of business, and geography, so that every employee in the organization remote or in office could play a key role in making sure this event was a success,” explained Dave Benson, HR Generalist for Meduit. “As Meduit has locations throughout the country, we had Line of Business Liaisons responsible for tracking information in their respective locations, and we sent out weekly companywide updates to keep the momentum going. It really was a collaborative company-wide effort.”

Across the initiative, Meduit averaged 8.5 items collected per employee. In addition, our management team competed in a “virtual game” of Meduit Leadership Jeopardy for a bonus donation for their team. Eric Coats was victorious and walked away with 560 pounds of additional food in honor of the Blazing Bad Debt team. Several Meduit employees earned raffle tickets and will receive an invitation to the upcoming Awards Presentation and raffle drawings.

Congratulations to all, and thank you for your hard work and dedication to helping those who need us most. Meduit is honored to give back to the communities where we live and work!
