Claim Denials, Mergers and Acquisitions and Patient-Centered Care at HFMA Conferences in Georgia, Alabama & New Orleans

Bret Whatley, Regional VP of Sales South, and Janice Ridling, Sales Advisor, represented Meduit at HFMA conferences across the southern states, including the Georgia HFMA Fall Institute in Savannah November 6-8, the HFMA Region 9 Conference in New Orleans November 10-12, and the Alabama HFMA Fall Institute in Birmingham November 14-15.

The ongoing battle over claim denials was a hot topic of conversation at the Georgia event.

“One revenue cycle director specifically addressed the need for AI driven technology that staff can use to collect on denied claims,” said Bret. “Automating that process as much as possible will help providers resolve more claims efficiently.”

Merger and acquisition activity had the C-suite level attention.

“There was a lot of talk about Atrium’s expansion into Georgia,” Bret noted. “When a large organization like Atrium jumps across North Carolina to begin acquiring new business in Georgia, healthcare entities in Georgia take notice.”

Patient-centered care and meeting the patients’ needs led at the New Orleans conference with sessions on creating a personalized financial experience from front end though back end as well as understanding healthcare finance and the revenue cycle.

“The New Orleans event provided an excellent opportunity to share Meduit’s patient-centered focus through our segmentation and voice analytics solutions,” Bret said, “A number of attendees that I spoke with were very interested in what Meduit is doing with voice analytics.”
