Congratulations to Lisa Keffer, Relationship Manager for Meduit and President of the South Texas HFMA Chapter. Lisa and past presidents of the organization accepted the Robert M. Shelton Award in recognition of the HFMA group’s five years of sustained excellence. The August edition of HFM Magazine has just published a feature article spotlighting the South Texas Chapter for receiving the award.
The Robert M. Shelton Award honors regional HFMA chapters for five years of sustained excellence, demonstrating continuous improvement in quality and variety in educational programs, growth in membership and other factors. The award is presented at the HFMA Annual Conference each year and it is the South Texas Chapter’s first Shelton Award.
Over the past five years, the South Texas Chapter has been honored with 18 awards, which include education certification and membership awards, and 10 Yerger Awards for innovation, member service education, collaboration, improvement and member recruitment and retention. The South Texas Chapter is home to 356 members and has maintained an average of 207 education hours per member with an overall member satisfaction rate approaching 85%.
“Over the past five years, the South Texas HFMA Chapter has provided the highest level of service to its members,” said HFMA Chair Michael M. Allen, FHFMA, CPA. “This benefits not only the healthcare finance professionals who belong to the chapter, but also the state of healthcare in the region.”
“Receiving the Shelton Award for the South Texas Chapter is a great honor for our organization,” said Lisa. “It’s exciting to see our chapter be recognized for achieving so much over five years.”
