Meduit’s SARA Fills Staffing Gaps, Drives Cash & Lowers Costs Posted on May 11, 2023 Hospitals and health systems continue to struggle with staffing and revenue cycle challenges in the post-COVID-19 era. Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) CA is no exception. CHOC leadership wanted to explore how artificial intelligence (AI) could: - Fill human resource gaps - Generate cash faster - Lower costs - Decrease AR - Lessen workload for current employees CHOC reached out to Meduit to leverage AI to automate its front, mid and back-end processes and support its revenue cycle operation. Meduit recommended SARA (Supervised Autonomous Revenue Associate) to assist staff with repetitive actions that would move processes and claims forward, thereby increasing productivity and freeing up scarce resources to handle more complex tasks.   CHOC implemented SARA slowly with just a few tasks to test her capabilities. SARA is now performing seven business office functions for CHOC with seven more tasks in the development stage.
